Terms of Service

Last updated: 14 September 2026

These terms govern your use of LabelSaaf at labelsaaf.com (the "Service") ("we", "us").

By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

See also our Privacy Policy.

1. What LabelSaaf does

LabelSaaf lets you photograph a packaged food label or scan its barcode and returns nutrition information and a health score, along with an explanation of how that score was calculated.

The Service is currently free and provided as-is while in development.

2. LabelSaaf is not medical or dietary advice

This is the most important thing on this page.

Scores and explanations are general informational content based on published nutrition methodology. They are not medical advice, not dietary advice, and not a substitute for a qualified doctor, dietitian, or nutritionist.

Do not use LabelSaaf to make decisions about managing a medical condition. If you have diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney disease, food allergies, are pregnant, or are feeding an infant, consult a healthcare professional. Nothing here is tailored to you or your medical history.

If a product's packaging and our result disagree, the packaging is authoritative. Always read the label for allergens.

3. Accuracy

We try hard to be accurate and we are not always right. Specifically:

  • Nutrition values are read from photographs by automated systems and can be misread.
  • Some results come from Open Food Facts, a public database contributed to by volunteers, which may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong.
  • A barcode may match the wrong product, or a product's recipe may have changed since the data was recorded.
  • Scores are calculated from whatever information is available. Where information is missing, we say so, but the score is still an estimate.

We give no warranty that any result is accurate, complete, or suitable for any purpose. Verify anything that matters against the physical pack.

4. Data sources and attribution

Some product data is from Open Food Facts, used under the Open Database License (ODbL).

5. Your account

Signing in is optional. You can use LabelSaaf without an account.

If you sign in with Google, we create an account so your scan history can be saved. You are responsible for keeping access to your Google account secure. You can delete your account and your saved scan history at any time from within the Service.

We may suspend or remove an account that is being used to abuse the Service.

6. Acceptable use

Please do not:

  • Automate, scrape, or send large volumes of requests to the Service
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits or security measures
  • Resell, redistribute, or present our results as your own product
  • Upload content that is not a food label, or that is illegal or infringing

7. Photographs you submit

You keep any rights you have in the photographs you upload. You grant us permission to process them to produce your result.

Where a scan fails, we may retain the image for a limited period to diagnose and fix the problem, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes and availability

The Service is under active development. Features may change or be removed, results may change as our scoring methodology improves, and we may suspend or discontinue the Service at any time. We do not guarantee uptime.

If our scoring methodology changes, previously saved scans may show a different score than when you saved them. Where that happens we will show you both.

9. Paid features

The Service is currently free. If we introduce paid features, we will publish pricing terms before charging anyone, and nothing you currently use will start charging without notice.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service, or from reliance on any result it produces. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which for a free service is nil.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The "last updated" date above will change, and material changes will be notified within the Service.
